YOLA — The Christians Association of Nigeria (CAN), Adamawa State has cautioned Christians in the state not to allow politics to divide them, but to remain united.
The State CAN Chairman Dr. Stephen Dami Mamza made the plea while addressing Christians on Monday during the Easter Service organized by the state chapter of the body held at living Faith church Jimeta.
Mamza called on politicians and those aspiring political offices not to allow politics to be a source of division, emphasizing that, they “should remain united in one heart and mind in the body of Christ”.
He said the essence of organizing the Easter service is to bring Christians together to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ, and urged church leaders, and Christians in the state to be more united and live a life worthy of emulation.
The CAN Chairman stated that CAN will not relent in talking to those concerned in order to have an attitudinal change, and explained that Nigeria is a blessed country, but with bad leaders.
He hoped and prayed that Nigerians would produce leaders in 2023 that would salvage the country.
In his message, Deputy Governor of Adamawa state Chief Crowther Seth noted that peace and security are fundamental ingredients that would hasten development in a society, hence the need for people to contribute their quota towards having a peaceful society.
Represented by the Head of Service, Dr. Edgar Amos, the Deputy Governor said among the 11 points agenda of Governor Ahmadu Fintiri, peace and security top the priority.
