AWKA — The cutting-edge APGA aspirant for Anambra Central Senatorial seat, Uzuegbuna Okagbue, today paid a consultative visit to all ward and local government APGA executive members in Awka South local government. APGA executive members in the twenty wards of Awka South local government as well as all local government executive members, both numbering over four hundred and twenty party officials, converged at their usual venue to receive Uzuegbuna Okagbue and hear why he has asked to see them.

In his about thirty minutes speech which held APGA ward and local government leaders in Awka South local government spellbound, Uzuegbuna Okagbue said that he called and asked the party, local government Chairperson, Ms. Chikodiri to call the meeting and that he asked to see all ward and local government leaders to beg them for support. “I asked the party chairperson to call you all so that I will beg you to send me to go to the senate in 2023, to represent you. I am here to inform and to beg you that APGA will no longer work hard to represent Anambra Central in the senate in vain. Our aim is that after we have won the primary, we will win the senate for APGA”, Uzuegbuna Okagbue said.

Awka South APGA leaders received Okagbue’s message of hope and change

Speaking further, Uzu Okagbue said he has the three things it may take for a victorious outing at the poll; the grace of God, wisdom and people’s love, which according to the APGA senate hopeful, are three cardinal demands for anyone to succeed in any aspiration to lead the public. Uzuegbuna Okagbue who spoke seamlessly to the amazement of party people emphasized his readiness to leverage on his contact and deliver Anambra Central’s fair share to them when he gets elected.

The venue of the meeting was filled to the brim and Awka South APGA leaders received Okagbue’s message of hope and change, with excitement and later said a prayer as demanded by Uzuegbuna Okagbue wherein they declared that Uzu will go to senate for Anambra Central senatorial zone.

Speaking after the prayer, the State Deputy Chairman of APGA, Mr. Tony Omeligwe said that APGA cannot afford to give someone ticket and the person will fail to win the General Election. “APGA does not need to give someone ticket and he will go and fail General Election”. Omeligwe also agreed with Uzuegbuna Okagbue’s caveat when he said that effective representation is not just about talking. “Actually, going to represent any zone in the senate is not all about talking; it is about impacting the lives of the constituents and party people. I am happy that you are here, listened carefully, and took note of what Uzu Okagbue said.

The duty of the party is to check what aspirants said to them and discern who can do what the party wants. Not a situation where they will support someone and the person goes and does not represent their interest, instead he turns his back on party people and locks up his gate against party people. That type of thing will never happen again in APGA”, Omeligwe said. Reemphasizing that APGA cannot field someone who will not win General Election.
