The senator representing Adamawa Central in the National Assembly, Aisha Ahmed Dahiru Binani has emerged victorious in the All Progressives Congress APC Governorship primary election held on Thursday after defeating five other contestants to become the flagbearer of the party in Adamawa in the 2023 general elections.

Senator Binani who is the only female contestant defeated five men and polled 430 votes, followed by former Economic and Financial Crime Commission, EFCC Chairman, Nuhu Ribadu who scored 288 votes former Governor Muhammadu Umaru Jibrilla Bindow came third with 103 votes.

The member representing Ganye, Jada, Toungo and Mayo-Belwa Federal constituency Abdulrazak Namdas scored 94 votes, followed by Umar Mustapha, Otumba Ekiti who secured 39 votes, and Wafarnyi Theman with 21 votes.

Senator Aishatu “Gimbiyar Adamawa” will slug out with candidates from other political parties in the 2023 general elections.
