If I captured your smile and pry your heart,
Would it shine through the hollows of your being
Or would it fizzle out into darkness?
If I captured your smile and pry your heart,
Would it shine through the hollows of your being
Or would it fizzle out into darkness?
If I unearthed the soil of your laughter and dig further,
Would I find fruit of joy and happiness
Or would there lie the gory sight of decayed wounds?
If I poked to see the root of your kisses and look steadily
Would pleasant glitters of love shine
Or would pong of hate stink?
If I sifted the words of your mouth and sift vigorously,
Would purity of intention glide
Or would lumps of pollution pop?
If I scanned the bone of your autarky and examine closely,
Would traces of morale surface
Or would quaky elusion be spotted?
The mask and the Maker-
two mutual friends
but one rides the other.
For lack of boundaries,
the latter cling to the former like a leach
until its identity is forgotten.
It is said that the pot is no greater than the potter
but the mask’s grown superior to the maker.
The power to do and undo is lost;
The maker can no longer put aside.
The mask eats through
the being of the maker;
complications brew and rupture
As emotional pus leak.
Now is the time to excavate and heal.
