Nigerian Engineers across the world pulled together for Peter Obi and the Labour Party.

On Sunday 14th of August 2022, talented Nigerian Engineers of the different fields held a meeting via zoom which was organised by a group called Engineers for Peter Obi and the Labour Party.

The group is formed to work with the presidential candidate of the Labour Party as well as the Party in articulating and developing an election manifesto/policies that will address Nigeria’s engineering infrastructure and industrialisation challenges.

The economic and social development of any country is hinged on the development of engineering

infrastructure and industrialisation and therefore Nigeria need to radically address these challenges to attain the needed development.

The coordinator of the group Dr Chukwudi Okeke who is an elected District Councillor in the UK and an Automotive Engineer charged Engineers to understand their significance in building a country.

Countries are underdeveloped when the practitioners of Engineering are ignored.

Dr. Augustine Nwankwo Ikwueto a UK-based Flood and Coastal Risk Management Expert stated that new policies are required to drive Nigeria’s infrastructure development and industrialisation.

Six areas of infrastructure development were put forward and each topic was assigned to a team of experts in that field.

A team was also assigned to develop a strategy for the industrial revolution, moving from an oil society to an industrial society.
