Following the security alerts by the United States and other countries, warning of terrorist attacks in Nigeria’s capital city, Abuja, and its environs, the Nigerian Army (NA) has rolled out emergency numbers for Nigerians to report suspicious or abnormal occurrences within their immediate vicinity.

The emergency phone numbers were contained in a flyer the NA shared on its social media platforms on Friday.

“Kindly report any information that would aid the Nigerian Army in combating insecurity via phone call, SMS or WhatsApp to the following numbers. 07017222225, 09060005290, 08099900131, 08077444303,” the flyer read.

In addition to the phone numbers, the NA also dropped an email address dedicated to receiving security reports from Nigerians. The email address is na.callcentre@army.mil.ng.

“Messages should contain exact location, date and time of the incident,” the flyer read.

In the same vein, the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Usman Baba, has reiterated the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), in concert with other security agencies, to eliminate all threats, as well as protect lives and property, and ensure the safety of all citizens and residents.

In line with this commitment, the NPF released control room numbers across the 36 States of the federation, including the Federal Capital Territory, for a 24/7 prompt response with combatant officers and men on standby to respond in case of emergency situations and distress calls.

Allaying the fears of Abuja residents, the IGP urged them to remain vigilant and report any suspicious or abnormal occurrence and persons to the police through the following emergency lines: 08032003913, 08061581938, 07057337653, and 08028940883.

He also admonished them to go about their lawful businesses and normal social lives and engagements as all hands are on deck to nip any security threat in the bud and respond to distress calls promptly.
