AWKA — Anambra State House of Assembly has approved Governor Soludo’s nominees for the position of Managing Director – MD, of Operation Clean and Healthy Anambra State – OCHA Brigade, and Auditor General of the State. During plenary on Thursday, the House considered the Governor’s nominees for the two positions, and found them fit and capable.

Celestine Anaere was nominated for the position of Managing Director of OCHA Brigade, while Daniel Edozie Okeke was nominated for the position of Auditor General of the State. Both nominations were approved by the House of Assembly.

Similarly, the Anambra State legislature also considered the appointment of Transition Chairmen and their committee members into the 21 local government areas of Anambra State. With the exception of Nnewi North local government whose former Transition Chairman was removed from office following controversy arising from the death of his wife, all other Transition Chairmen and committee members so appointed three months ago, were returned. For Nnewi North local government, Engr. Chris Eze Obiorah was nominated and subsequently elected by the House to replace Mbazulike Iloka.

The Transition Chairmen and their committee members are expected to occupy office for the next three months, and be nominated by the governor or replaced; pending when local government election is conducted in the state by Governor Soludo’s led administration.
