The Enugu State Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi on Wednesday placed a bounty of five million naira on the killers of Engr. Dons Udeh, Enugu State gubernatorial aspirant under the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in the 2023 general election.

Ugwuanyi made this announcement when he received delegates from Ozalla in the Enugu State Government House led by the President General of Ozalla Development Union, Barr. Charles Nwagbara; the group demanded for justice and appealed for government intervention.

Addressing the group, the Governor described Udeh’s murder as painful and a great loss not only to his family and community but to the entire state; he was a former State Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)

Ugwuanyi also said that he had detailed the Commissioner of Police, Enugu State Command, CP Ahmed Ammani and the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of State Criminal Intelligence and Investigation Department, DCP Fidelis Ogarabe to leave no stone unturned in investigation until the perpetrators of the dastard act is caught; this he said will serve as a deterrent to other gunmen so as to maintain peace in the state.

Governor Ugwuanyi then announced a cash reward of N5 million for any person or group of persons that will provide credible information to the Nigeria Police that will lead to the arrest of those involved in the murder of Engr. Dons Udeh; the N5million bounty will be made available to the Nigeria Police, Enugu State Command.

The State Governor also approved the release of another N5million to the communities in Ozalla town in Nkanu West Local Government Area to aid them in investigating the gruesome murder; one million naira each to the five communities in Ozalla.

Recall that the decomposing body of Engr. Dons Udeh was found in a bush at 9th Mile Bypass in Udi Local Government Area on the 25th of April 2023 at about 11am.

The Police had revealed that marks seen on his body suggests that he was murdered.
