A couple Mr Kamal Idris, 24 years, and his wife Mrs. Ambasiya Idris, 19 years residents of Wuro Jabbe, Yola South local government area of Adamawa State are now cooling in a Police cell for torturing an 11 years old orphan Fahad Abdulkarim placed under their custody as guardians after the death of his father.
According to a statement by the Adamawa State Police Command spokesman, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, the couple was arrested due to frequently and willfully torturing the little child which creates grievous bodily injury victim.
The statement reads in part: “The Command upon receiving the report swung into action and luckily rescued the innocent/tortured child and rushed him to Hospital, now on Admission receiving treatment.
“The Commissioner of Police CP Afolabi Babatola frowned at the inhuman treatment meted on the little boy by the guardians who happened to be uncle/aunty to the victim.”
The statement quoted CP Babatola as urging members of the public to always give timely information to the police for effective policing and service delivery, vowing to prosecute them to serve as a deterrent to others.
