Nteje Community in Oyi Local Government Area has launched War Against Drug Abuse, WADA as they inaugurated a committee that will champion Zero tolerance to drug trafficking in the community.
The President General of the community, Dr Nnamdi Iloduba said that the target is to rescue the community from the activities of drug peddlers.
Dr Iloduba said that the society is losing good number of youths to drugs abuse as many have abandoned schooling and their careers following their dependence on drug and said that the situation calls for a collective action to reclaim the youths and the community.
He expressed their readiness to collaborate with all security operatives to achieve the objective.
Dr Ilodiuba called on the youths of Nteje to meaningfully engage themselves and promised that the community will help to train and empower those who will turn away from drug intake.
He warned those dealing on drugs in Nteje to leave the community or be ready to face the law once apprehended even as he called on other communities around to key into the initiative for a more peaceful and progressive society.
