Intelligence reports received by the Yobe State Police Command revealed that indicates that insurgents are planning to exploit the planned protest to execute heinous acts in the state.

DSP Dungus Abdulkarim, the Command’s Public Relations Officer made the revelation in a statement issued on Sunday.
The statement, while admitting that citizens have constitutional rights to peaceful assembly, affirmed that Yobe State may face additional security challenges following the activities of insurgents in Gujba LGA, which led to an IED explosion recently.
The command urged people to share information that could prevent hijacking the protest by criminal elements.
The statement said: “By providing this information, we can deploy adequate personnel and resources, designate specific routes and areas, establish clear communication channels, and minimize the risk of violence, property damage, or criminal activity.
“We commend patriots who have withdrawn from the planned protests due to sinister motives and ignorance of those calling for violence.
“Clandestine groups plotting to destabilize the state and hoodlums seeking to exploit the protests for criminal agendas should desist from carrying out any acts capable of breaching public peace”.
The command enjoined participants to provide protest routes, names, and contact information of protest leaders and organizers to facilitate a successful and incident-free protest.
In the same vein, the National Vice Chairman of AYTAM Global Charity Care Foundation, Nura Alkali Talata Mafara said intelligence reports indicate that bandits may capitalize on the protest and cause mayhem in the state.
He stated this in Yola, Adamawa State capital during the state Orphans Qur’anic Recitation Competition organized by the Foundation, stated that no member of the foundation was in support of the protest and condemned it in its totality.
