Nigeria police high command has asked Andrew Wynne, the British national declared wanted to come out of his hiding place and surrender to the operatives of the Nigerian police.
Recall that the police had on Monday declared Wynne and his Nigerian collaborator, Lucky Obiyan wanted for allegedly plotting to overthrow President Bola Tinubu-led administration and placed N20m bounty on the duo, maintained that their offences bothered on terrorism financing, treasonable felony, cybercrime and subversion to criminal conspiracy.
Force spokesperson, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, while speaking to journalists on Tuesday at the Force headquarters, Abuja said the Briton was contacted many times and he refused to show up even after his workshop was invaded.
Adejobi said Wynne should come out of hiding and face the wrath of the law like his accomplices, who had been arraigned in court.
“He (Wynne) has been contacted several times. He has been so faceless. We went to invade that bookshop. Has he asked questions? Has he come out? Up till now, he has not shown up. Why is he hiding and speaking from hiding that he has no case to answer?”
“We have established an offence or offences against him, and we have even declared him wanted. His accomplices have been charged in court. Let him come out.
“Zoom interrogation suggested by Wynne would not be accepted by the police based on the gravity of the allegations preferred against him,” Adejobi said.
