Adamawa State Police Command has arrested two suspects in connection with the killing of Police Inspector, Ibrahim Maizabuwa.
The suspects, Ezekiel Kefas (67) and Stephen Zabadi (44) are residents of Wamsa Suwa village in Lamurde Local Government Area.
According to the police, the deceased Police Inspector who works in Gombe, Gombe State was killed on November 11, 2024, when he visited his friend Ezekiel Kefas in the village to demand the return of his three cows, which he had given to Kefas for farming.
The suspects allegedly conspired, isolated, killed, and buried the inspector.
Kefas narrated that: “My friend came and started destroying properties including pots of soup and water in my house and assaulting people as a result of which women and children raised alarm which attracted thugs who beat him to death.
“Those who killed the deceased include Yakubu, Suleiman, and Kilyobas. They beat him with sticks to death. Yesterday, we went to the houses of those who committed the crime but didn’t meet any of them.”
Meanwhile, Adamawa State Police Command has arrested two persons in connection to the gruesome murder of a police officer.
The Spokesman of the Police Command, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, who confirmed the arrest, said that the suspects were apprehended on the 19th of November, 2024 following a complaint to the police command by the son of the deceased, Danlami Ibrahim Maizabuwa.
Command SP Nguroje, said security have been deployed to arrest the remaining three suspects, who are currently on the run, adding that the Commissioner of Police, Morris Dankombo had ordered for discreet investigation and prosecution of the suspects.
