Operatives of Police in collaboration with local security outfits in Adamawa in Adamawa have raided a suspected kidnappers’ hideout located at the Holma Mountains in Song Local Government Area of the state.

SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, Adamawa State Police Public Relations Officer, said in a statement that the feat was achieved through coordinated operation by operatives of the Anti-Kidnapping Unit in conjunction with local hunters.

He added that One (1) AK-47 rifle, Two (2) locally made guns and Five (5) rounds of AK-47 live ammunition were recovered at the scene.

Nguroje said: “On sighting the operatives, the armed criminals opened fire in an attempt to resist arrest. However, during the ensuing gun duel, one of the kidnappers was neutralized, while others escaped with bullet wounds. One suspect, identified as Mohammed Sale, a male, was arrested.

“The arrested suspect is currently in custody, providing useful information to aid the ongoing investigations”.

He called on the public to report any suspicious person(s) especially those with bullet wounds.

The Adamawa State Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, while commending the swift response of the operatives and the local security partners, urged for sustained collaboration to flush out criminal elements and ensure the safety of all residents in the state.
