NewsNigeriaPoliticsAir Force Chief: No Hiding Place for Nigeria’s Enemies

The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, has issued a strong warning to those threatening Nigeria’s peace and security, declaring that there will be no hiding place for them.

Speaking in Abuja on Wednesday during the Second Quarter Route March of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF), Air Marshal Abubakar declared that the days of hiding are over for anyone endangering the country’s security.

“To the enemies of our nation, know this: there will be no hiding place for those who threaten the peace and stability of Nigeria. We are coming for you. We will find you and take you out,” he said, addressing a crowd of officers, airmen, and airwomen after the march.

The air chief restated NAF’s unwavering commitment to defending Nigeria’s airspace and supporting joint operations across the country.

“We will continue to defend every inch of our nation’s airspace and stand firm in joint operations to protect lives and property across the country,” he said.

He urged personnel to see the protection of Nigerians not just as a duty, but as the highest priority of the Force.

Abubakar also used the occasion to thank President Bola Tinubu for his continuous support, especially in terms of funding and boosting welfare for armed forces personnel.

He said: “We are grateful to the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for his steadfast support to the Armed Forces, particularly his investment in operational effectiveness and personnel welfare.”

The CAS announced new fitness policies. Going forward, physical fitness tests will be a compulsory part of performance evaluation and a key requirement for promotion.

“As a matter of policy, I have directed that all Performance Evaluation Reports must be accompanied by a Physical Fitness Test Certificate. Furthermore, no personnel will be considered for promotion without being medically and physically fit,” he said.

Drawing a parallel between the route march and the larger goal of national security, Abubakar said the road to peace is not without challenges, but with discipline and resilience, victory is certain.

“Let today’s route march be a reminder of who we are and what we stand for. Let it rekindle our fighting spirit and reinforce our shared commitment to the defence of Nigeria. We are not just marching on roads, we are marching towards purpose, honour, and victory,” he said.
