The Adamawa State Police Command has confirmed that armed youths have into Corpers’ Lodge, at Specialist Hospital, Yola and robbed about thirty-six (36) corps members of their valuables, including mobile phones.
In a statement by the spokesman of the command, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, however said four suspects in connection with robbery have been arrested.
The statement explained that on 27th June, 2026, the suspects, armed with dangerous weapons, criminally trespassed into the lodge and committed the offence.
The suspects aged between 17-30, all residents of Jimeta, Yola North local government area include Elkana Ishaya, 17 years, of Clarck Quarters Jimeta, Mubarak Abubakar, 22 years, of Galadima Street Jimeta, Musa Umar, 30 years, of Samunaka and Kabiru Tanko, 20 years, of Galadima Street Jimeta.
“Upon receipt of the report, Police operatives attached to Karewa Area Command immediately commenced investigation, which led to the arrest of the four suspects and recovery of four (4) mobile phones stolen from the victims.
“Investigation is ongoing to recover more stolen phones and arrest other members of the gang still at large. The suspects will be charged to court upon completion of investigation,” the statement added.
The Commissioner of Police, Adamawa State Command, CP Kabiru Umar Hassan, reassures members of the public, particularly corps members, of the Command’s commitment to the protection of lives and property.
He also urged residents to promptly report suspicious persons and movements to the nearest Police Station.
