As confusion continues to trail the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), at the national level, former Governor of Ekiti State and member of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, Ayodele Fayose, has said the APC must collapse for peace and progress to return.
The APC has been thrown into leadership uncertainty as two people have laid claims to the position of National Chairman in the last 24-hours following the ruling given by the Appeal Court upholding the suspension of the former National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, by his ward in Edo State.
Weighing in on the situation, Ayodele Fayose, a controversial former Governor, stated in a tweet that the crisis APC was experiencing is caused by ‘God’s anger’.
“The crisis being faced by APC is a show of God’s anger against the party for its role and that of its govt in impoverising (sic) Nigerians, promoting election rigging and looking the other way while Nigerians are being killed in their thousands.
“God will never be happy with a party that its govt is doing nothing to stop the bloodshed, raping of women; including children and destruction of people’s sources of livelihood going on in the country.
“God can also not be happy with a party like APC, that its govt has not only impoverished Nigerians, but with its inept presidency, plunged the country into debt that future generations will have to pay,” Fayose stated.
The former Governor alleged that the ruling party rigged the 2015 election as well as the Kogi and Bayelsa elections.
“Definitely, matters will be made worse with time because for Nigeria and its people to return to the path of peace and progress, the APC house of lies that is being nurtured with the blood of Nigerians must collapse,” Fayose said.
