A woman, who does not want her name to be disclosed, on Wednesday, has accused a police officer identified as Peter Ebah of Saakpenwaa Police Division in the Tai Local Government Area of Rivers State of detaining and raping her in a guest house after being arrested for not putting on a nose mask.

The victim, who is a widow and a mother of two, alleges that the police takes her away from the bus she wass travelling in from Bori, Khana LGA, to Port Harcourt, around 6:30p.m on Tuesday.

The widow adds that the police officer, after he detains her at the checkpoint for hours, put her in the police van and begin to drive around under the pretext of taking her to the station, she says they ended up at a guest house.

She says the policeman threatened her before she has to cooperate.

She says, “After a while, they took me to a guest house, where one of them, Inspector Peter Ebah, from Sakpenwa Police station raped and threatened to kill me if I misbehaved and held me there till this (Wednesday) morning.

“In the morning, he asked me to give him my account number so that he would transfer N2,000 into it. I played along and gave him the account number because I didn’t know what he would do to me if I had refused.”

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, Nnamdi Omoni, investigation is ongoing to unmask the accused police officer and ensuring that justice is served in the matter.
