The Chief of Ndola in Kurmi local government area of Taraba state, Chief Enoch Tabena has called for security deployment at the border areas to check the influx of aliens that now plunger the area.
Speaking to newsmen on Thursday Chief Tabena said that there were increase illegal migrants that kept flooding between Kurmi and the Republic of Cameroon.
He told newsmen in Jalingo, the state capital that movements of Ambazonia nationals into the border areas posed a serious security threat to the people of the chiefdom.
He said, the locals were not equipped to challenge such influx of illegal immigrants in the area and called on relevant authorities to deploy more security surveillance to the area to contend and check their activities.
Chief Enoch Tabena, commended Governor Darius Ishaku for creating more Chiefdoms in the state, saying that the action had brought governance closer to the masses, while he appealed to the governor to allow the third class chiefs to appoint District Heads within their domains.
According to him, ” the traditional rulers are in a better position to determine who can be effective in community governance.”
He explained that the spate of insecurity in his domain was minimal, adding that the traditional structure in his chiefdom has made communication between the rulers and inhabitants very easy.
Chief Tabena however, assured the Governor of improved community governance, so as to achieve a peaceful and crime-free environment.
Recalls, Governor Darius Ishaku, had on Wednesday lamented the encroachment by the people of Ambazonia on Kashimbila community in Takum local government area of the state.
The governor said he had already reported the matter to the appropriate authorities.
