YOLA — With the upsurge of insecurity in some parts of the country, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa state Monday confers with Lamido Adamawa Dr. Muhammadu Barkindo Aliyu Musdafa on modalities to stem the tide of insecurity in the state.
Speaking to newsmen after a closed-door meeting with the royal father, Fintiri said the visit was to intimate the monarch on the security situation in the state.
“The meeting centred on the general security situation and developments in the state as they affect the people across the state especially during this period.
“Since my assumption of office, I have been engaging traditional institutions towards addressing the farmers and herder’s clashes, kidnappings, and other security threats in Adamawa.
“Government will continue to promote peace particularly by improving the relationship between farmers and herders to facilitate socio-economic development,” he said.
According to the Governor, Lamido Adamawa besides advising him many aspects has pledged to come in where necessary to work with government, for peaceful coexistence across Adamawa.
“The meeting with the royal father has further provided me the inputs for handling security issues better, I will henceforth incorporate traditional rulers in efforts to move Adamawa forward,” Fintiri added.
