As ravaging deadly coronavirus continued to claim lives reports say that suspected gunmen have killed 11 persons including a traditional leader in three communities of  Kaduna, northwest Nigeria.

A statement issued by the Public Relations Officer, Southern Kaduna Peoples Union (SOKAPU), Mr. Luka Binniyat,  said the attacks took place in Guruku ward, Kuduru village both in Chikun Local Government Area and Jagindi, in Jema’a Local LGA.

He said in Guruku ward, six people were killed on Tuesday afternoon when bandits invaded the area.

According to him, on Monday,  the attackers were said to have stormed the compound of District Head of Jagindi, Mr. Danlami Barde, at about 8 pm on Monday and killed him and his brother.

It was also gathered that the deceased was trying to settle a family dispute when the attackers struck.

Also the Chairman of Jema’a Local Government, Mr. Peter Averik, who confirmed the incident also, noted that security operatives had since been mobilized to the area.

The Chairman appealed for calm as investigations were ongoing to track the perpetrators.

The State Police Command is yet to comment on the issue.
