…Fintiri, APEC, Adamawa Police Command mourns Abba
Adamawa state is mourning the passing away of another philanthropist, entrepreneur, and businessman, Alhaji Abdullahi Abba, who died on Sunday after an illness.
Adamawa state Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, Adamawa Progressive Elders Council (APEC) and Adamawa state Police command paid tribute to the elder statesman in their separate condolence messages, describing the deceased as a peacemaker.
Fintiri, in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou, described the deceased as a man who made an immeasurable impact on his community, touching lives through his generosity, philanthropy, and commitment to the welfare of the people.
“Alhaji Abdullahi Abba was not just a successful businessman; he was a compassionate father, philanthropist and community builder who raised independent and responsible children. He lived a fulfilled life of impact and will be sorely missed by all who knew him,” Fintiri said.
The Governor noted that Adamawa State had lost a great son whose exceptional business acumen, investments and entrepreneurial contributions had played a significant role in the economic development and growth of the State.
Also, the Chairman of the Adamawa Progressive Elders Council (APEC), Brigadier General M.B. Marwa (Rtd), described the late Alhaji Abba as a rare Nigerian who turned enterprise into service, and whose life’s work fed families, created employment, and gave dignity to thousands across Adamawa State and the wider North East.
In a condolence message issued today (Sunday) and signed by Ahmad I. Sajoh, FNIPR, Head of Media and Publicity of the Council, the message noted that in Mubi, Michika, and the entire northern Adamawa zone, the deceased was far more than a businessman.
“Alhaji Abdullahi Abba belonged to that vanishing generation of men who built quietly and gave generously,” General Marwa said.
“Through Nagge Products and the Alkama Bread brand, he built an enterprise that became a household name, but his greater legacy is the livelihoods it sustained and the young men and women it lifted. He proved that business, properly conducted, is itself a form of public service.”
In its condolence message, the Commissioner of Police, Adamawa State Command, CP Kabir Umar Hassan, has commiserated with the family of the deceased and the entire people of Adamawa State over this irreparable loss
In the message signed by SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, Police Public Relations Officer, the CP described the late Alhaji Abba as a man of peace whose contributions to stability and development in the state were invaluable and whose doors were always open to all, including security agencies.
“The Adamawa State Police Command has received with deep shock the news of the passing of an elder statesman and police-friendly individual, Alhaji Abdullahi Abba, Chairman of Nagge Products and the famous Alkama Bread, who died on Saturday.
“Alhaji Abdullahi Abba was not only a successful businessman whose investments created jobs and fed thousands across Adamawa and beyond, but also a respected community leader and peacemaker”.
