Adamawa state has recorded its first case of the coronavirus.

The suspect is a returnee from Kano, the second state with the highest number of confirmed cases in Nigeria.

He has been on self-isolation when he returned from Kano last week.

Confirming the case to a colleague via a telephone conversation, he said, “I just got a call from the COVID-19 containment committee this morning, informing me that my result showed I’m positive for the virus.”

The Adamawa state COVID-19 containment committee is yet to officially confirm the case.

The situation has since generated tension and people living in fear as the neighbor of the victim shown worried about the sad development.

One of his neighbors who pleaded anonymity advised that the entire compound including children to be quarantined.
