Former Nigerian Senator, Senator Shehu Sani has faulted the Federal Government’s decision to ease lockdown in Lagos, Ogun, and Abuja.

The Former Senator who represented Kaduna Central Senatorial District in the last Senate described the decision of the FG to lift the lockdown without a vaccine as suicidal.

He alleged that the FG decision is to allow this who can survive the COVID-19 to survive.

He tweeted on Friday, that “the hidden truth behind the suicidal act of lifting the lockdown without a vaccine is simply, let those who will survive survive.”

He, however, did not give further clarification for his position. Read his tweet here:

President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday announced the gradual suspension of the lockdown in Lagos, Ogun, and the Federal Capital Territory.

On the same Monday night, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control reported new 64 cases with a total of 1337. COVID-19 cases in Nigeria has, however, increase to 1934 within three days of the announcement, recording its highest daily record, 204.

Anybody infected with the coronavirus pandemic suffers damages from the immune system. Experts including the WHO had advised that maintaining social distancing is a way of preventing the spread of the virus.

The Presidency had also directed FG workers from level 14 and above to resume to work from May 4.
