The State Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps in Oyo State, Mrs Grace Ogbuogebe has said that two corps members died and at least 11 others would be repeating service year in the State.

Ogbuogebe disclosed this during the passing-out-parade of the Batch B, Stream 2 members on Thursday in Ibadan, according to the Nation.

She said the Corps members would be repeated the service year due to offences ranging from absenteeism, absconding, among others.

The State Coordinator said that currently, 2,892 corps members were undergoing the mandatory service year in the State, comprising of 1,367 males and 1,525 females.

She further stated that two corps members received awards and recommendation letters because they executed community development projects. During the period, two corps members died while 40 went on leave for reasons ranging from marriage and childbirth.

The passing out ceremony was a low key celebration due to COVID-19.
