The culprit printed forms with the name Binani Forum Special Assistant Form and demanded processing fees of Two thousand naira (N2000) from unsuspecting victims.
The fraudster was said to have defrauded residents of Garin Alhaji near Chikito in Gurin Ward of Fufore Local Government Area before he met his Waterloo.
The Adamawa State Command Police Public Relations Officer DSP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje who confirmed the arrest said the suspect has defrauded many people with fake Special Assistant (SA) form claiming that Senator Binani is offering twenty thousand naira (N20, 000) monthly stipend as Special Assistant (SA) to her constituents.
In her reaction, Sen. Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed Binani described the forms as fake as she had not commissioned anybody to carry out that project and therefore advise the general public to verify any information so as not to fall victim to fraudsters.
A press statement from her media aide Maulud Usman Ibrahim quoted Senator Binani as saying that she will never request for personal financial obligations from her constituents for any empowerment programme whatsoever.
