Babatunde Gbadamosi and Ademola Alebiosu have emerged as candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party for the bye-election which will hold on Oct. 31.

Mr Gbadamosi will contest on the platform of the party for the Lagos East Senatorial election, while Mr Alebiosu will fly the flag of the party at the House of Assembly election for Kosofe constituency II.

Announcing the results of the Primary election, the Secretary of the PDP Electoral Committee, Mr Abiante Awaj-Imombak, said 638 delegates were accredited, about 624 votes were cast, and 14 votes were voided.

Mr Gbadamosi polled 529 votes, winning other aspirants by a landslide. Saidat Odofin Fafowora came second with 59 votes. Babatunde Olanrewaju and Yetunde Oyefusi secured 21 votes and seven votes to come third and fourth, respectively.

Meanwhile, Alebiosu got 31 votes to defeat his only opponent for the House of Assembly primary election, Mr Segun Aroyewun

Awaj-Imombak said the election was monitored by the Independent National Electoral Commission and other agencies.

The Lagos East Senatorial seat became vacant following the death of Senator Bayo Oshinowo while Kosofe Constituency II of the House of Assembly lost representation when Honourable Tunde Braimoh.
