The Management of Maryam Abacha American University of Niger (MAAUN) has donated a 60-seater bus to the Federal University Dutsinma (FUDMA) in Katsina state.

Presenting the bus to the Vice-Chancellor of FUDMA, Professor Armaya’u Bichi in Dutsinma,  the President and Founder of Maryam Abacha American University, Professor Adamu Abubakar-Gwarzo said the donation was borne out of the effort to support the university towards the promotion of education in the country.

Abubakar-Gwarzo, who was represented by Dr Aliyu Haruna, said the gesture would also go along way in facilitating the movements of staff and students of the university.

He expressed the commitment of MAAUN to continue to support and collaborate with the Federal University Dutsinma in order to enable it to achieve the objectives it was established to achieve.

Responding, the Vice-Chancellor of FUDMA,  Professor Armaya’u Bichi, commended the proprietor and President of the Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria, Professor Adamu Abubakar-Gwarzo for the gesture.

“On behalf of chairman of Council Federal University Dutsinma, Alhaji Uba Ahmed Nana,  the management, staff, and students of the university I today received the key of this vehicle that was donated by the management of Maryam Abacha American University, Maradi, under the able leadership of professor Adamu Abubakar-Gwarzo,” he said.

He assured that the vehicle would be put to proper use as it would go along way in reducing the sufferings of students and staff in terms of transportation.

He also commended Abubakar-Gwarzo for his continuous support to the university in various ways pointing out the FUDMA would continue to sustain the Collaboration for the development of education in Nigeria.

“We really appreciate his kind gesture because he has been helping the university in various ways as he has promised and started already registration of Federal University Dutsinma in UNESCO.

“He has also promised to help us train our staff in Paris at any time when we establish the department of French.

He expressed the readiness of the university to collaborate with MAAUN in the areas of training, research and development to enable the two universities to compete with other sister universities in the country and beyond.
