Members of the #RevolutionNow protesters on Thursday stormed the United States Embassy in Abuja to protest the security and socio-economic challenges confronting the country.

The protesters demanded the resignation of President Muhammadu Buhari over insecurity, hunger, and corruption in the country.

The protesters led by the convener of the movement and former Presidential aspirant who contested against President Buhari in the 2019 election, Mr. Omoyele Sowore, wielded a big banner with the description, “Buhari has failed,” “Resign Now,” and other placards that read, “Failed leadership has made Nigeria the capital of the world,” and “#RevolutionNow”.

Joined in the protest in #BringBackOurGirls activist, Aisha Yesufu, Ariyo Dare-Atoye, Henry Shield, Adebayo Raphael, Deji Adeyanju of Concerned Nigerians and many others, criticizing what they described as oppression in the country.

In her remarks, Yesufu said Nigerians must make the country work, adding that things are becoming unbearable in the country.

Raphael on his part, said Nigerians have passed vote of no confidence in the political leadership of the country, noting that “under Buhari, our economy is in shambles; under him, hardship has been redefined.”

Adeyanju posited that Nigerians are dissatisfied with the security and economic conditions in the country. He stressed that “Nigeria is not working.”
