The Adamawa State Police Public Relations Officer Deputy Superintendent of Police DSP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje who disclosed this in a Telephone interview with the West African Pilot News said items recovered from them include Army uniforms, rustled cattle, Sheep and Goats.

“The Commissioner of Police has ordered full investigation into the matter and called on the public whose domestic animals were rustled to come forward and claim them.

“The public should always report to security agencies happenings within their localities for prompt action”. Nguroje said

Also in a Telephone interview, a farmer from Gombi Muhammadu Hammanjidda expressed dismay over the behaviour of some herders who give farmers an ultimatum to harvest their farm produce or risk being eaten by their animals.

“Farmers in the area are now living in perpetual fear due to frequent attacks by herders; forcing farmers to harvest their farm produce like Beans and Guinea-corn unripe.

“Government has been emphasizing the need for people to invest in farming and designed various programmes targeting farmers; the activities of some herders have become a source of frustration for farmers, and called for quick intervention by authorities concerned”. He said.
