Police in Houston Texas at the weekend gave an update on the death of a Nigerian couple, Dr. Benjamin Okigbo, and his wife, Theresa, a nurse.
The police added that there was no shooting incident, affirming that Benjamin strangled his wife.
On Saturday, the Police said their investigation revealed that Benjamin Okigbo strangled Theresa Okigbo to death.
He attempted to strangle both of his 21-year-old sons before he eventually hanged himself.
The sons survived the attack but sustained injuries that are not life-threatening.
According to a report on Friday, a daughter who doesn’t live at the home became concerned and went there. She wasn’t injured.
Someone in the house called 9-1-1 around 10 a.m on Friday, from the home in the 1500 block of Brookstone Lane.
The police found the bodies of the couples inside the house on arrival, they were both in their 50s.
The report said the tragic couple had lived in the Greatwood home for about 20 years.
A neighbor said she spoke with the wife last week and nothing seemed out of the ordinary.
The police added that the investigation remains ongoing.
