Senator Ishaku Abbo, the senator representing Adamawa north senatorial zone, Saturday, alleged that the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the state has ” failed woefully and already PDP is dead in Adamawa.”
Abbo, dropped the hint in a meeting of Adamawa state All Progressives Congress stakeholders National Press Conference at the party Secretariat in Yola, adding that ” APC, is more united and desperate to remove the Executive Governor of the state, Rt Hon Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri in office in 2023.
“In APC we are united, Sen Abdulaziz Nyako may not be the next Governor, Sen Muhammadu Umaru Bindow may not be and Senator Ishaku Abbo may not be, but somebody in APC must be the Governor. APC is desperate to remove Fintiri in 2023.
“We are not desperate about power but we are desperate about one thing, that is to remove our who are stealing the state funds, ” Abbo has said.
Commenting on why he and other decampers chose to join APC the senator maintained that “We are in APC in the interest of Nigeria and the interest of Adamawa state. We are not power mongers. We are not desperate politicians. We come together so we can restore Adamawa State from the grip of a kleptocratic government.
“Some of us are thinking senator Abbo came into APC to contest for governor. I joined APC so that I can help champion a better Adamawa state for my own children.
“Nobody among us here is after becoming a governor or senator or house of reps members after the interest of Adamawa state.
The senator said he is not afraid of making such a statement adding that as a legislature, he has no immunity and can be sued.
He further explained that ” when the governor served in an acting capacity for 76 days, he nearly sold the government house and in his nearly two years as the governor of Adamawa State, Fintiri did not commission a single project.
“In his nearly two years he has not started, completed, and commissioned any project.
” I was in Mubi zone where I spent three days, during which I uprooted what Fintiri has been planting in two years,” he said.

In a swift reaction, the state governor accused Senator Abbo of being inflicted with hangover and desperation which led him to “political -summersault. ”
Humwhashi Wonosikou press secretary to the governor said that as a high-ranking legislature, the senator should know the import of his statements and should be ready to defend such statements when the need arises.
On the issue of projects, Wonosikou said the governor is taking his time to institute solid projects for the benefit of all citizens as such he is not in a rush.
He noted that if the senator did not see the numerous projects across all the sectors of human endeavour, discerning people of the state are witnessing the milestones being recorded and are in appreciating the same.
