Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has responded to the allegation by the opposition that the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) government in Adamawa has failed, chided that no opposition party in the state could make him have a sleepless night.

The governor who was fielding questions from newsmen at government house yola shortly after his return from a trip said that the present administration has no cause to be rattled with seemingly opposition groups that were firing salvos.

It could be recalled the former Adamawa Governor Bala James Ngilari, had on last Saturday said that the  PDP  has no future in Nigeria because it is a dying party, just as Senator Ishaku Abbo,  the senator representing Adamawa north senatorial zone berated that  “We are not desperate about power but we are desperate about one thing, that is to remove our who are stealing the state funds.’’

But reacting, Governor Fintiri averred that: ‘’ Do we have an opposition party in Adamawa? There is no opposition party in Adamawa and if you are talking of the last administration (APC led government) what have they done; do they understand the meaning of development for them to even define what development is all about?

‘’I think, the people of Adamawa will tell you how we changed the narrative and is there for everyone to see!’’ Fintiri said.

In the 2021 prospects, Fintiri assured that youth and women’s development will be given adequate priority.

In his words, ‘’ First of all, I thank all people for the support and prayers and also the love. I wish Adamawa people happy New Year once more and also want to assure them that we will continue on the same page, probably much better the way we started in the last year.

‘’We assure them this year will be better, we will do our best to ensure that we stimulate the economy. We will continue with the service, particularly infrastructural strides across the 21 local government areas so that the resources of the state will be well distributed fairly.

‘’Our youths and women will be well empowered in 2021, so that we will position them for future development of the state and the nation at large and I wish everyone the best of luck; the best of energy in 2021.
