Suspected bandits allegedly launched an attack on a military camp in Zazzaga community, Munya LGA of Niger state early Wednesday morning.

At about 4 am on Wednesday, unknown men with arms invaded Zazzaga community in groups, shooting sporadically.

As reported by TheCable, differents groups attacked different areas of the community.

While a group attacked the military camp located near a junior secondary school in the area, another group blocked the major road that leads to the community.

The third group surrounded the community, preventing the youths and vigilantes from organizing for reinforcement.

The suspected bandits, who reportedly engaged the soldiers in a gun battle was said to have burnt down a military vehicle and a food store in the camp.

Although no one has been confirmed to have died during the attack, one officer is said to be missing.
