A political and cultural group of northern leaders, Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF), has asked the federal government to prosecute repentant insurgents or free all w2 criminals.

The group condemned the rationale behind letting off repentant insurgents who have caused the death and displacement of several citizens.

The Nigerian Army took custody of over 100 apologetic insurgents who surrendered to troops within the past few weeks.

Some of the Boko Haram leaders who surrendered had also asked Nigerians for forgiveness.

In a statement, the chairman of the group, Audu Ogbe, questioned the sincerity of the repentant criminals.

Ogbe, who is also a former Minister of Agriculture said the apology isn’t enough, pointing out that the motive of the insurgents is questionable.

“We are currently witnessing large scale surrender of large numbers of Boko Haram insurgents, among whom are bomb makers, commanders, arsonists, rapists, and child snatchers.

“Do we have good reason to cheer and hope for an end to this decade-old insanity? Is ‘I am sorry enough to bring relief to Nigerians and the thousands of dead and maimed? What of those victims bombed in the churches, mosques, schools, and markets?

“What of all the men and women in uniform murdered by them? Who can count the thousands of widows and orphans they have created? And what is the difference between them and the Ighoho’s or ESN of Nigeria? None.

“So what do we do with them? Should we just embrace them and trust them wholesale? Are their moves informed by altruistic repentance? We seriously doubt it.

“We join the Governor of Borno, The Shehu of Borno, Senator Ndume and millions of Nigerians in pondering over this development and our simple advice is: Bring them to trial, or free all others presently in custody anywhere, while we Nigerians plead guilty of naivety and gullibility in the extreme, punishable by more insurrection and anarchy,” the statement read.

Yes, their motive is suspect. Until Nigerians realise that the leadership of this country, especially the Fulanis who have literally taken over the security apparatus of this country has a different agenda and vision for this country other than the agenda or vision of an average Nigeria, which is good governance, the better for all of us.
Those military personnel and police officers who refuse to apply adequate rule of engagement while dealing with Nigerian civilians as witnessed during the Endsars movement and IPOB and Sunday Igboho attacks are definitely not commissioned officers but Repentant Boko Haram terrorists.
I believe is that the Fulani leadership want to formally hand over Nigeria to the repentant terrorists or Boko Haram sympathizers in the military by the way of staging a coup d’etat like what happened in Afghanistan and fully handover Nigeria to those Fulanis that will execute the Fulani take over of Nigeria. Let us be warned!
