KANO — The Northwest Zonal commander, Ibrahim Babale National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), North-west Zonal command has rescued 35 victims of human trafficking.

Babale made the disclosure while briefing newsmen in Kano which cover Kano, Katsina, Jigawa, Kaduna and Bauchi states received 6 males and 29 females rescued from human traffickers.

Babale explained that the victims were on their way to Europe and were recruited from 11 states including Ondo, Lagos, Enugu, Anambra, and Oyo among others.

He added that the Command had succeeded in rescuing over 1,000 victims from January to December 2021.

He pointed out that, the Nigerian police force apprehended the human traffickers, and transferred the victims to NAPTIP through the Nigerian Immigration service Kongolom International Border post, Maiadua Katsina state.
