The First Lady, Aisha Muhammadu Buhari has lauded the Senator representing Adamawa Central, Sen. Aisha Dahiru Binani for winning the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship ticket in Adamawa State.

Announcing the results of the elections, which started at about 11:30pm on Thursday, but concluded at about 8:44am on Friday morning, the chairman of the electoral committee, Gambo Lawan, said Binani scored 430 votes, and former Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) boss, Nuhu Ribadu, trailed behind with 288 votes.

“To be honest, I am short of words to express how deeply I feel about the outcome of this primary election where I emerged victorious with 430 votes,” Binani had said, in reaction to her victory.

In a congratulatory message to Binani, the First Lady described the emergence of Sen. Binani as the governorship candidate of the APC in Adamawa State as victory for Nigerian women.

While wishing the gubernatorial candidate a success in the forthcoming 2023 governorship election, Mrs Buhari advised her not to rest on her oars, as the journey had just begun.
