ENUGU — The Commissioner of Police, Enugu State Command, CP Ahmed Ammani, has confirmed and ordered the State Criminal Intelligence and Investigation Department (State CIID) of the Command to conduct a full-scale investigation to cause of death of five persons in Obollo-Afor Community, Udenu Local Government in Enugu State, Nigeria.

Mrs. Chinyere Odoh was found dead in her apartment with her daughter Udochukwu Odoh (female, aged 7) and Chukwuemeka Odoh (male, aged 4) as well as her two (2) sisters, Martina Ezeme and Ngozi Ezeme.

Responding to a distress call alerting the Udenu Police Division of the Enugu Command to the incident, police officers forcing open the deceased apartment at Amutenyi in Obollo-Afor community at about 9.25am on Saturday saw the lifeless five bodies in two separate rooms in the apartment; they were declared dead at the hospital.

In a statement signed by the Public Relations Officer, Enugu Command Police, DSP Daniel Ndukwe, preliminary investigation reveals that the said deceased persons went to bed the previous night and were not seen in the morning.

Describing the incident as unfortunate, CP Ammani sympathizes with the family and friends of the deceased persons assuring them that the mystery behind the unnatural death will be unraveled.

The corpses were deposited in the mortuary for preservation and autopsy.
