ColumnsDon OkoloNigeriaOpinionConventional Myths Remain World’s Most Notable Controversies

And we believe in all of them…except the last one on this list. The one I figured out.

I will be called out, castigated, roped, and dragged through a stony terrain to be thrown off a ten-thousand cliff, that is if you read on and arrived at the very last haymaker of the controversy of all controversies. First, here is the list of all the major arguments humans have swallowed hook, line, and sinker.

  1. The idea that Lucifer woke up one morning and decided to fight God, his Creator. If you believe this, that means you don’t have a thinking mind.
  2. That God is a white man, and that His Angels are all white…as depicted in the Cistern Chapel by Michaelangelo. To this day, most people believe that crap…all Europeans, including white Christian Americans, believe this. As the former white, apartheid first lady once said; ‘Blacks are the remnants of creation’.
  3. That Lucifer, now Satan, is black. Go figure that one. What they have not shown us is the image of Lucifer while he was in Heaven. You see images of Archangel Michael, Archangel Raphael, and Angel Gabriel…and in all renditions, they are all white. With those cockamamie representations, Seraphim Angel, and Archangel Lucifer, must be white.
  4. That Jesus, as a human being, was a white man. Blond. Blue-eyed. Back when I was in Nigeria, I believed that nonsense. Even among black Christians all over the world today, that belief is still prominent.
  5. That every Pharaoh that ever lived, and Queen Nefertiti, were all white people. Elizabeth Taylor comes to mind here.
  6. That Moses was a white man. If that were true, then, Hannibal was a white man, too…and that Shaka Zulu was an adopted name by the white Dutch man who landed in Southern Africa back then.
  7. That Mungo Park discovered the River Niger (Nai-ja)
  8. That Christopher Columbus discovered America…even as the punk got lost.
  9. That only Christians will make Heaven. That Moslems, Buddhists, Sikhs, and all other earthy followers of nature’s faiths, like sun-worshippers, would all burn in hell.

Well people there are other controversies…an endless list of unintelligible polemics that humanity has accepted as unvarnished truths. The one I have adopted as the most straightforward, stark truth that could get me banished, stoned, shot to death, even by hardened, dye-in-the-wool Catholics, is this, the tenth argument/controversy:

10. That God, The Father, chose Mary, The Mother of Jesus, to Deify. He Deified Her to live in Her. Unless you do not understand the PRISTINE NATURE OF GOD, would you doubt what I am trying to tell ya. Yes, I said it; God, The Father, and God, The Mother. Now, you can shoot your shot. I have a mind whetted in Spiritual, beatified nuggets…and I am not backing away. I am not even your quintessential Christian. I am a greatly watered-down Catholic. What we are not being told was the fact that He put Her on Earth to bear His Own Flesh. Her Flesh, His Flesh, both fused. That was the moment She became, well, a God…a God. Her assumption into Heaven, as Christians believe, could only have happened in her state of deepened sleep, and not death. Mother Mary did not die. Let me repeat: MOTHER MARY DID NOT DIE. The workings of God are as incomprehensible and as vast as the Universe of galaxies. Please, do not try to figure this SINGULARITY, BECAUSE YOU ARE GREATLY DISAVANTAGED TO DO SO. THAT WILL BE THE GREATEST REVELATION IN HEAVEN IF YOU WERE LUCKY AND WAS ALLOWED INTO THE KINGDOM OF GOD.

    The Great Don,
I have one request and that is : let’s depict all of these on the big screen and I’d play the confused believer and that would-be one heck of a reality show.
