A repentant Boko Haram member Musa Dauda has been arrested by Borno State Police Command for alleged killing and burying his ex-wife, Hafsat Musa.

The suspect was said to have on Sept. 12 invited 45-year-old Hafsat to meet with him on her farm at Muhammed Goni stadium, Maiduguri.

ASP Sani Kamilu, Borno State Police spokesman who stated in Maiduguri on Friday said Hafsat was nowhere to be found after honoring the invitation.

“The case was not reported to the police until a few days later when the decomposing body of Hafsat was discovered on the farm by her relatives.’’

“The police swung into action immediately; visited the scene and evacuated Hafsat’s corpse to Umaru Shehu Ultramodern Hospital, Maiduguri for autopsy,” he said.

According to the PPRO, the suspect (Dauda) was arrested on Thursday, Sept. 2,to1, and he confessed of committing the crime.

He further said Dauda said he saw Hafsat with another person on the farm and he hit her with a hoe on the head before she slumped and died.

The Police spokesman added that Dauda said he later buried Hafsat on the farm and fled.

Kamilu assured that the suspect would be arraigned upon completion of an investigation.
