Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has summoned security meeting in the Government House, Yola Wednesday aimed at resolving the conflict that ensued between some Army and Policemen in Yola, the state capital which resulted into the death of a soldier and policeman.
Addressing Journalists after, Governor Fintiri said investigation into the matter was ongoing with a view to ensuring peace and justice.
“The meeting has resolved the conflict and that the security chiefs in the state have vowed to work in synergy for the interest of Adamawa and Nigeria,” he said.
The Governor who confirmed that both the military and police lost one officer each and others sustained injuries during the clash, called for restraints to avoid recurrence.
Fintiri called on the people of the state to go about their legitimate businesses as the government is ready to ensure peace has prevailed in all nooks and crannies of the state.
Deputy Governor, Kaletapwa Farauta, Brigade Commander, 23rd Brigade, Brigadier General Gambo Mohammed, Yola and Adamawa State Commissioner of Police Afolabi Babatola attended the meeting.
