President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has sacked Corp Marshal and Chief Executive Officer of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) Dauda Ali Biu and named ACM Shehu Mohammed as his replacement.
The appointment of ACM Shehu Mohammed as the new Corp Marshal and Chief Executive Officer of FRSC was contained in a letter dated May 20th, 2024 signed by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume.

According to the letter, the appointment is by Section 7 (1) of the Federal Road Safety Commission Act, 2007, and takes effect from May 20th, 2024.

Dauda whose appointment was supposed to run till 2026 was appointed by former president Muhammadu Buhari in July 2022 when the then corps marshal, Boboye Oyeyemi, retired from the service.

Mohammed’s appointment is for an initial period of four years with effect from 20th May 2024 by the relevant provisions of the Act establishing the commission.
