A heavy powerful windstorm accompanied by rainfall has killed two persons in Yola and blew off roofing of residential houses including quarters of Nigeria Police Force Mopol 14 barracks in Yola, Adamawa State.

Areas worst hit are Wuro-Chekke and Mbamba wards in the Yola South local government area of the state where two deaths were recorded.

The incident forced the affected to salvage their properties from saturation. It also destroyed the walls of Nigeria Police Force Mopol 14 barracks in Yola and other residential buildings in Wuro-Chekke and Mbamba.

Some of the affected occupants of Nigeria Police Force Mopol 14 barracks in Yola had called on the Police authority to assist and hasten the repair of the damaged structures to make them habitable.

As of the time of filing the report, the affected households are repairing their damaged structures, while sellers of roofing materials and carpenters are doing brisk business.
