The public’s perception
of the tyrant’s unwavering audacity,
On issues both profound and obscure, spirals into deep disquiet.
Their faith wavers in the face of uncertain destiny’s realities.
To this, I attribute mankind’s inclination to surrender to fate,
As an explanation for their own deficiencies,
Much like the severely sick native for whom the local healer,
True or not, symbolizes his ultimate hope for healing.
Treading upon the water, swallowing the seer’s bitter elixir,
In a state of hopeless sickness, he succumbs to the mystical.
