Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa state has declared the state government’s commitment to partner and support African independent Television AIT Yola.
Fintiri stated during a courtesy call to the head of Africa independent Television AIT yola office.
The governor represented by the state commissioner of information and strategy, Comrade Umar Garba Pella said they were in a television station to register state government sympathy and concern over the recent theft of equipment in the complex by unknown persons.
He added that Adamawa people were proud of the edifice saying the history of Africa independent television cannot be written without the name of Adamawa state.
‘’ The government will partner with the television station for the overall development of Adamawa and the media industry as a whole,’’ he said.
Speaking earlier, the head of Africa Independent Television, Yola , chief Timawus Mathias who thanked the government for identifying with the station said, ‘’AIT is out to complement government and the station focused on quality service to people of Adamawa as well as a chronicle the activities of government.’’
Chief Mathias explained that AIT took twelve to fifteen years to put together the station and expressed gratitude for naming the complex after him.
He said the station is committed to collaborating with Adamawa broadcasting corporation ABC Yola, and Adamawa television corporation ATV in providing additional programme content and staff training.
The head of AIT station had earlier conducted members of the team round the complex, situated at bajabure industrial layout in Girei Local Government Area to assess the damaged wreak by the thieves.
The criminals had taken advantage of the temporary closure of the premises to carted away equipment.
