The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Adamawa has confirmed the arrest of 11 suspected drug peddlers at the Secretariat of the All Progressive Congress (APC) along Galadima Aminu Way, Yola, Adamawa State.
Mohammed Idris, NDLEA’s Commander in Adamawa, Friday, confirmed that the arrest followed tip-off, adding that substances suspected to be illicit drugs were equally discovered when the officials of the NDLEA searched the premises of the Party Secretariat.
” Yes there was arrest at one of the party secretariats, illicit drugs were discovered and investigation still going on, though by next we will make a press briefing on this and other success recorded in the recent times, ” he said.
A party official had also confirmed the arrest and recovery of the suspected illicit substances but was quick to say that ” the persons arrested are hoodlums who have no connection with the party office.”
An eyewitness confided that the arrested youths were the regular faces at the Secretariat most of whom are errands boys of the party office.
For now, the party is yet to make any comment on the arrest.
