KATSINA — On Tuesday, suspected gunmen abducted a former General Manager of the Katsina State Television, Alhaji Ahmed Abdulkadir, and his teenage daughter.

Abducted Abdulkadir is also a retired director with the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC).

Residents in the area disclosed that the gunmen stormed his residence at Shema Quarters, Bakori Local Government Area of Katsina State in the early hour of Tuesday, and started shooting indiscriminately into the air before taking him and his teenage daughter away.

It was also learnt that the gunmen abducted three other people in the community before moving all the victims into the forests.

The spokesman for the Katsina police command, SP Gambo Isah was yet to reply to the SMS sent to him on the incident. His phone also rang out.

Gunmen had over the weekend abducted members of the families of two lawmakers in the state.

Two sons and a wife of a lawmaker representing Bakori Constituency in the state House of Assembly, Dr. Ibrahim Kurami, were abducted on Saturday night at Kurami.

The gunmen struck again early Sunday morning at Tafoki where they abducted Asma’u, the younger sister of the House Deputy Speaker, Dalhatu Tafoki, who represents Faskari Constituency at the Assembly.
