Residents of Fufore town, Dasin, and Gurin communities all in Fufore Local Government area of Adamawa state have expressed their disappointments on the inability of the Raycon Nigeria Limited to hasten the rehabilitation of the Parda-Muninga roads, awarded by the state government.
Investigations by The West African Pilot News have revealed that the construction and rehabilitation of the 18.09 kilometers Parda-Muninga road had continued to suffer due to snail-speedy work.
The work (Package 11 Lot IV) is part of the World Bank project in the state under Adamawa state second rural access and mobility project (ADRAMP-2) and was awarded to Raycon Nigeria Limited.

The work is expected to complete by October 2020.
A cross-section of the residents and motorists decried that the road had become a death trap, wondering why work was slow as rains ushered.
A Parda motorist, Mr. Baba Mallum, who plies the road regularly, said that since the contract was awarded, there had not been any significant work on the road.
“Yes, they have clearing sides of the road and a few weeks ago, they started scraping the road, but, this is nothing compared to the rate at which construction is progressing on the other rural road projects in some parts of the state, handled by other contractors.’’
In an interview, Abubakar Tafida Gongas a resident in the area fumed, ‘’ It’s unfortunate, that a mushroom company will be handling this Parda to Muninga road with no culvert, no water channels, destroyed valuable material and endangering people’s houses.
‘’The people of the area are appealing to the state government and all the authority concerned to intervene on the matter.
He also called on the member representing Fufore/ Gurin constituency Hon. Shuaibu Babas who was at the side last two weeks to revisit the road and see what happened.
‘’ Honorable member should call on the contractor and question him on the project,’’ he stressed.
Gongas who was also a victim of a flood cries for government intervention, ‘’ this is rainy season, if care is not taken our houses, will be destroyed, and we are in lockdown condition.’’

Our reporter observed that abandoned heavy-duty machines were stationed with no site engineers to talk to the press.
Recalls that, the state commissioner for Rural Infrastructure and Community Development Abdullahi Prambe had earlier said that He noted that‘’ We focused much rural the infrastructure just as the government blocked all leakages and contracts’ abandonment plaguing our system.
‘’ Some contractors were ordered to go back to sites and complete the shady works said to have been completed.
‘’ In 21 local government, we were been able to at least touched in rural infrastructure either on feeder roads or rural electrification; we always monitored and evaluates works done to ensure standard’’ said he.
