Like in other northeastern parts of the country Muslims in Yola, the state capital of Adamawa State, on Sunday have come out in their numbers to observe the Eid El Fitr prayers with little compliance to social distancing order.

Women and children could be seen adorned in their different Sallah attires at Friday’s mosques were the Eid-el Fitr prayers were observed.

In adherence to the social distancing rule, some Muslim faithful were seen obeying the rule while it is a different decision for some.

Fielding questions from newsmen shortly after the Eid El Fitr prayers, the state Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri, urged Nigerians to continue to pray for Allah to heal the world from the scourge of COVID-19 disease.

While felicitating with the Muslim Ummah for witnessing yet another Eid-el Fitr Sallah which marks the end of the Holy Month of Ramadan, Fintiri prays Almighty Allah to accept all sacrifices and answer the prayers of the faithful. He urges Muslims to pray for an end to the COVID 19 pandemic ravaging the World so that life returns to normal.

In this trying times of the novel Coronavirus pandemic, ‘’ everyone is also admonished to corporate with the frontline by observing the necessary protocols and contributing their quota in helping to save lives.

In the meantime, this year’s event is being celebrated in a low key as all sallah homages and durbars were suspended in compliance with social distancing order.
