Professor Folasade Ogunsola has been confirmed as the acting Vice-Chancellor of the University of Lagos.
She was confirmed by the Governing Council on Tuesday at a virtual meeting chaired by Mr. John Momoh. Mr. Momoh who is also the President of the University of Lagos alumni association had been appointed by President Buhari to convene a Council meeting to confirm Mrs. Ogunsola’s appointment.
Professor Ogunsola, 68, was elected on Monday by the university’s senate. She became the first female acting Vice-Chancellor of the institution in its 58 years of existence. She was the deputy Vice-Chancellor development services before her appointment.
Meanwhile, a panel set up by the Federal government to investigate the crisis rocking the institution would be inaugurated on Wednesday, the West African Pilot learned. The panel is comprised of Prof. Tukur Sa’ad (Chairman); Mr Victor Onuoha; Prof. Ikenna Onyido; Prof. Ekanem Braide; Prof. Adamu Usman; Chief Jimoh Bankole and Mrs. Grace Ekanem.
